The ActivFit 3 steps to success

1. FREE Initial Consultantion

On first contacting ActivFit a time will be arranged for you to meet your personal trainer for an initial lifestyle chat. This will take no longer than 45 minutes in which your personal trainer will quickly establish your goals. At this point a course of sessions will be discussed and there is no obligation to sign up. The cost of the course will also be discussed and depending on the number of sessions will depend on the price.

ActivFit use effective and unobtrusive ways in which to screen our clients. We believe that by doing this we can programme your sessions more effectively.

  • ActivFit use 4 ways in which to do this, they are:
  • Body Stat (Bio electronic impedance Analysis).
  • Blood Pressure
  • Fitness Test
  • Hip and Waist measurements

Personal Training sessions will last an hour and the session content will depend on an individuals goals and preferences. Your Personal Trainer will provide all the fitness equipment necessary to complete your workout. Each session will be closely monitored by using Polar heart rate monitors to ensure the safest most effective workout possible.

Full Details of The Health Screen

Test 1: Bodystat.
The Bodystat 1500 measures your body fat, lean tissue and water as a weight and as a percentage. This is done by connecting to electrodes to the hand and foot in a lying down state. This is not only the least intrusive way of measuring, but it is also the most accurate method.

Test 2: Blood Pressure.
Using a fully automatic blood pressure monitor by Omron, with clinically validated measurement technology “Intellisense” (controlled inflation/deflation) makes this a comfortable and fast measurement of blood pressure and pulse.

Test 3: Fitness Test.
The fitness test is comprised of 5 elements, they are: Upper, lower and core strength, Vo2 and Flexibility.

  • The upper body: one minute press up test. Do as many full or half press ups as possible in one minute.
  • The lower body: one minute squat test. Do as many full squats as possible in one minute.
  • The core: one minute sit up test. Do as many sit ups as possible in one minute.
  • The Vo2 Test: Using stationary bike
  • Test 4: Hip and Waist measurements.
    Using a tape measure and a mathematical equation to calculate the risk of CHD.

What’s the difference between ActivFit Personal Training and other Personal Trainers?
ActivFit provides a whole Lifestyle change which is essential for permanent results. Whereas other Personal Trainers just concentrate on the fitness side, ActivFit only provides Personal Trainers who are also qualified nutritionist, targeting every aspect of your lifestyle.

Can ActivFit train me at my health club I am a member at?
In some instances yes. But it does need the authorisation from management from the health club.

I feel I don’t need to book a course of Personal Training. But I do need some guidance with the right fitness programme. Is this possible?
Yes, we can give you a full Lifestyle assessment and a Personal Programme to follow without any commitment of purchasing a course of personal training.

I have had Personal Training before and found it slightly intimidating what are your opinions on this?
At ActivFit we think of our Personal Trainers as training partners rather than coaches. With this in mind the whole perception of a personal trainer being a “Drill Sergeant” is in the past. Are aim is to provide you with a highly motivating, enjoyable work out ensuring nothing but success.
